bling bling

Check out these bad ass pieces of work from Pamela Love, Laura Levy, and Sara Horne--one NYC based designer and two (cool for school) SoCal based up and coming jewelry designers.  One of whom designed costume jewelry for Pirates of the Caribbean! Digging the turquoise and studded stones.

Fabulous?

Fabulous? Or not?
I can't say that I'm not excited for Vegas. The lights, the glitz, the getting dressed up in your tightest dress...(uhg). But I can tell you now, I may become suicidal after day 3.

I'll keep you posted.

The Packing List:
  • 2 semi-classy Vegas-approved ensembles found here & here
  • 2 five inch heels, 1 backup wedge
  • 1 Tao Beach approved bikini from Mikoh Swimwear.
  • 1 coverup that doesn't stain easily
  • essential rouge YSL lipstick
  • 1-2 pairs cheap sunglasses
  • 5 hour energies
  • coconut water
The Agenda:

Case of the Monday's

I find that every Monday I repeatedly have a true Case of the Monday's. After spending all weekend wining 'n' dining, not working out, overindulging myself... it's once again, back to square 1.

One way to boost your immune system/kickstart your routine back into "healthy mode" is by juicing. YES, fresh, green JUICING.

I have a couple of particular delicious recipes that give you the goods while not comprising the tastiness. Make an extra batch to store in a mason jar and bring to work! Makes for a quick healthy snack.

Green Gamer:

1 apple
1 orange
1 celery stick
2 carrots
spinach & kale

= THE DANKITY DANK

I know what you're thinking…. mmmmmmm ;)

day off? DIY

Pot painting DIY.

This is a fun/mindless hobby of mine. It's super easy, non-time consuming, and you end up with cute decorative pieces you can put around your house. Especially if you love  chevron prints  :)

All you need:

  • 1 pot
  • 1 basic paint brush
  • 1-2 paint colors
  • baby succulents

 Big pots & mini pots!

Put them outside your doorstep, on your window sill, by your bedside table.  Succulents are great no fuss indoor plants (for the person who does not like indoor plants). They require little water and they rarely die!

big saturday… decorating time!

Need some home decor inspiration? Why not color coordinate those shelves you don't use with those books you never look at. Makes for a pretty palette that catches the colorful eye.

Find some cool coffee table books at second hand book stores & stack them on a chair or table. Add matching peonies or colorful flowers!

Since you probably are like me and don't have an antique LV trunk (yet), find a vintage trunk and decoupage it or paint it!

where the turf meets the surf

A day at the races...

There's nothing that oozes summertime class more than getting all dolled up to go hit up the ol' Del Mar horse races. I can't think of a better excuse to smack on YSL bright red lipstick, an obnoxious hat (I'll never wear again), and drink mint juleps all day long?
Caution: may cause irrational betting

and it's not even my birthday...

The Ombre Cake  (for dummies) :

(inspiration via pinterest

Sometimes nothing is more fun than letting your inner housewife come out once in awhile. For me, this happens every time one of my friends has a birthday. Perhaps this is due to the fact that my mother was a career woman and never baked for me, or that I secretly wanted to tackle an unexpected kitchen feat, or that I really just want to eat cake once in a damn while. I donno, but… Here goes nothin'.

Must have:

  • 5 eight inch pans
  • 3 boxes Betty Crocker chocolate cake (eggs, oil, water)
  • 3 jars vanilla frosting
  • 1 pack food coloring

Divide cake batter among the 5 pans.
Next divide frosting into 5 different bowls while cake is in the oven.
Choose your cake color (I chose pink-obvi) and put 1 drop in first bowl, 2 drops in second bowl, 3 drops in third, and so forth…

Mix well.

Begin with first pan of cake.
Turn upside down on cake platter.
Ice with lightest shade of frosting first.
Stack second layer of cake & ice with second shade of pink frosting.
Repeat until fifth layer is stacked.

Add candles/cosmos…and voile!

Happy Ombre Caking.

Mon.o.gram; to identify a personal possession

I don't know about you, or why I am so gaga over anything monogramed…but I am. After a recent trip to the East Coast, I realized how far this mono-hobby of mine could go. Which it probably shouldn't. Something about the fact that something is customized for me makes it THAT much more special (NOT that I am obsessed with myself, as my roommate might suggest- she must hate her initials, or the fact that she can't borrow my monogramed things).

But be warned- this may ward off potential male suitors if you have a mono-problem such as myself.

Customize me at plum street prints !

How clutch are these beaded clutches? Perfect gift idea at moyna

Need a new shower curtain? Neither do I, but customize the sh*t out of yours at etsy :)

Endless summer

Although it is August, it isn't too late to be sporting summery trends that will carry you to fall. I just picked up (and have been obsessing) over these awesome beachy pouches from deszo . They funk up any casual summer outfit and add a pop of color!
